Hi Friends! What a week it has been! If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw I had surgery last week, so I have spent the last week recovering, and confined to my house. I seriously didn’t leave the house at all for 5 days!
While it was a change of pace for me, I know its what I needed to do to fully allow myself time to heal. I also didn’t wear makeup for nearly 4 days straight. Not a stitch! On Saturday, I washed my hair and put a full face of glam on in an attempt to film a video while I had an empty house for a few hours.
I hopped on Instagram, and got so many direct messages asking me what I had on my lips. I was planning to share this post this week, but so excited that you all loved the combo I had on!
I have been testing MAC’s new Powder Kiss Matte Lipsticks the last few weeks and love the formula. I purchased the shades Sultriness and Scattered Petals, both my signature peachy pink nude shades I love so much. I love them both paired with Whirl or Soar lipliners for the softest powdery matte finish. The don’t feel dry or heavy like other matte lipsticks can feel, yet they have the long staying power that you find typically in a matte formula.
For the longest saying power, I make sure my lips are soft and exfoliated using a good lip scrub like MAC’s Lip Scrubtious then prime the lips with MAC’s prep and prime lip. Priming the lips will not only fill in texture in the lips, smoothing out lines in and around the lips, but will also help the lipstick stay on even longer. Its an easy quick step that will prevent you from having to touch up more than needed throughout the day.
